The National Security Imperative
Modern national security demands rapid development cycles of high-rate, battery-powered vehicles. The United States currently lacks the Tier 1 supplier base for battery packs that will be required as we ramp up production on drones, satellites, and other vehicles.
The Supply Chain Challenge
American hardware manufacturers need every layer of their supply chain to iterate quickly, deliver quality, and meet their production rates. The overall program is only as fast as its slowest supplier.

Vertical integration has recently been the only option for American companies that need to accelerate component delivery dates. It is expensive, slow, high risk, and across an industry, results in many engineers working on the exact same thing but on different programs. The Founders
